  • Wells Fargo

    Wells Fargo & Company is an American international banking and financial services holding company headquartered in San Francisco, California, with “hubquarters” throughout the country.  It is the world’s second-largest bank by market capitalization and the third largest bank in the U.S. by assets.  Wells Fargo surpassed Citigroup Inc. to become the third-largest U.S. bank by assets at the end of 2015. Wells Fargo is the second-largest bank in deposits, home mortgage servicing, and debit cards.

    Wells Fargo in its present form is a result of a merger between San Francisco–based Wells Fargo & Company and Minneapolis-based Norwest Corporation in 1998 and the subsequent 2008 acquisition of Charlotte-based Wachovia. Following the mergers, the company transferred its headquarters to Wells Fargo’s headquarters in San Francisco and merged its operating subsidiary with Wells Fargo’s operating subsidiary in Sioux Falls. Along with JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Citigroup, Wells Fargo is one of the “Big Four Banks” of the United States. As of December 31, 2016, it had 8,700 retail branches and 13,000 automated teller machines. The company operates across 35 countries and has over 70 million customers globally.

  • Scripps

    The E. W. Scripps Company is an 100+ yr old American broadcasting company founded in 1878 as a chain of daily newspapers by Edward Willis “E. W.” Scripps. It was also formerly a media conglomerate. The company is headquartered inside the Scripps Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Its corporate motto is “Give light and the people will find their own way.

    Scripps also operates the national (US) spelling bee. and is also responsible for original programming that many of us have become addicted to like HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, Cooking Channel (formerly known as Fine Living), Travel Channel and Great American Country.

    Founded in 1989, XPO Logistics is a provider of transportation logistics services with 203 locations. The company has three business segments: freight brokerage, expedited transportation, and freight forwarding, and serves over 14,000 customers in the manufacturing, industrial, retail, commercial, life sciences, and governmental sectors.

    XPO has grown quickly and dramatically through acquisition (most notable was Conway).  XPO is one of the world’s ten largest providers of transportation and logistics services. The company has approximately $15 billion in revenue, serves more than 50,000 customers, and operates a network of over 95,000 employees in 1,455 locations across 32 countries

    XPO’s corporate headquarters is located in Greenwich, Connecticut, U.S. Its European headquarters is in Lyon, France.
